The 2016 World Jiu-Jitsu championship is still two months away, but a look on the black belt rankings already allow us to predict some epic action in Long Beach on June 1-5.
As we all know, black belts need to have at least 50pts on the rankings to be able to register.
The male ranking shows that 243 competitors are already over that limit, while on the female ranking 79 athletes have gathered at least 50pts.
The rankings adds points from results in tournaments in the last three seasons (since the 2013 Worlds).
Black belt world champions and 2015 brown belt world champions also have the right to register in the adult black belt division guaranteed.
By the way, the current leaders of the rankings are Mackenzie Dern (1548pts) and Paulo Miyao (1108.5pts).
The final deadline to register for the 2016 Worlds is May 24.
