Turns out the roster of athletes for the 2015 ADCC is not complete after all.
Jonathan “JT” Torres just announced on his Facebook page his withdrawal from the event.
He wrote:
“To all of my fans and supporters out there: Unfortunately I have been dealing with an injury that I obtained a week and half before the IBJJF World Champions, I obviously kept pushing though and competed at worlds and then jumped right back into ADCC Camp. This injury has been holding me back all camp but I hoped it would improve but it’s been the other way around. So I had to make a tough decision, based on what two Doctors have told me, and withdraw from ADCC. I have to focus on my health to make sure I can have a long competitive career. Thank you all my fans and supporters, I promise that I will be back stronger than ever.”
With that, an spot in the -77kg division has opened up.
There’s still no news on who’s gojng to replace JT.
The 2015 ADCC would have been Torres’ third appearance in the event.
In 2011, he made to the -77kg second round, when he lost to Leo Vieira.
In 2013, he made all the way to the -77kg semifinals and was stopped by Kron Gracie.
He then beat Leo Vieira for the third place.
The post 2015 ADCC: JT Torres withdraws due to injury and one spot opens up at the -77kg division first appeared on Graciemag.
