In the 2013 Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Championship held last weekend in SãoPaulo, Brazil, the ultra heavyweight black belt champion was Ricardo Evangelista (GFTeam).
To wear the gold medal on his chest, he had to sweep Rodrigo Cavaca (CheckMat) in the final, and also resist a tight foot lock during the last seconds.
Evangelista was one of the main highlights of the championship, since he also got the silver in the absolute, giving the gold to Rafael Lovato (Ribeiro Jiu-Jitsu).
