The jiu-jitsu community is in mourning following the untimely passing of 10th Planet Bethlehem black belt Zack Edwards.
Edwards, 28, was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive brain cancer days ago after months of ongoing health issues that began with a persistent headache. He underwent multiple surgeries during that time, but amidst the challenges, there was also joy — he proposed and became engaged to his fiancee Emi Miller in May of this year, and in July, he was promoted to black belt by 10th Planet Bethlehem’s JM Holland and Zach Maslany.
Edwards was known throughout the BJJ community as a fearsome competitor, having tested his mettle in many competitive circuits including Fight 2 Win. The promotion shared a tribute to him on social media following the news of his passing.
