Ricardo De La Riva — inventor of the De La Riva — has been promoted to 7th degree red-and-black coral belt.

He received his belt in a ceremony in Rio de Janeiro. Robson and Reyson Gracie — both 9th degree red belts — gave him his belt.

He was congratulated by his student, Antonio Rodrigo “Minotauro” Nogueira, and was sent video messages by such big names as Royler Gracie, Ricardo Liborio, and former UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson “The Spider” Silva.
