Quick fights and new challenger defined at Shooto BR

This Saturday afternoon in Rio de Janeiro marked the 21st installment of the Shooto Brazil event. Featured on the card were some of the standouts from Nova União’s new generation. Worth mentioning is that not a single of the bouts went to the judges, almost all ending in the first round.

In the evening’s main event, Amilcar Alves returned to his winning ways after back-to-back losses in the UFC. Back in the Brazilian domestic ring, Amilcar submitted Edimilson Santos with an arm-triangle in the second round. Another of André Pederneiras’s beasts, Hacran Dias also won by submission, against Arielson Silva, but in the opening round.

In the fight defining the next challenger to the promotion’s lightweight title, Eliene Pit put away Eli Frank by knockout in the first round. With the win, the fighter is now in line to face Felipe Olivieri at a date still to be determined.
