Cutest grappling dummy ever? I think so!
Rener Gracie shared an adorable video of his two year old son, Raeven, grappling with his favorite stuffed animal. Those are some pretty smooth transitions!
Raeven is 2 years old, and today, for the first time in his life, he came to me and said: “Can I do jiu-jitsu with Bubba?” I turned on the camera as quickly as possible and proceeded to record this ridiculously playful session between him and Bubba which included an armlock from the back mount and his favorite position: Surfer Mount. The number one question I get from parents is “How soon can I start teaching my kids jiu-jitsu?” And my answer is always the same, “To start teaching them jiu-jitsu, they need to be 5 years old, but they can begin playing jiu-jitsu as soon as they can walk.”
Thanks Victoria Parsons Gracie for creating Bubba the Jiu-Jitsu Bear, now all we need is a waterproof one so Raeven can take it to the beach!
